Life in the South Bay is wonderful! Sun, surf and the Savior as well! How privileged we are to live, work, play and worship here!
First Baptist is a church being transformed by the power of the Spirit of God. If you have been to worship here in the past, you may be surprised at what is
happening this week.
With the coming of Pastor Smith, we have undertaken a simple mission: To transform the church so that it brings pleasure and joy to Jesus Christ every day of
the week!
As such, God is leading in some exciting and new ways for our people. Our first priority is connecting you with God. Our music is designed for your participation
– we want you to engage with God each time you are gathered before God with us. Every message is designed to provide both Biblical authenticity and practical
usability. When you leave worship each weekend, we believe you will be able to know what God wants of you and how to put that knowledge into action!
Our second priority is to become the church. By this, we mean we no longer want to attend church as a spectator. We want to become the hands, feet, and
heart of Jesus in the neighborhoods and communities where we enjoy life. This means we want to grow up and take responsibility for the work of God in our
midst. First Baptist exists to empower and equip you to be all God wants you to be!
While we are in transformation we acknowledge things aren’t complete yet. Like any major construction site, you will have to “pardon our dust” and “excuse the
inconvenience” if things are unfinished or being changed at the moment. However, as in all great endeavors, such construction means things are happening! God
is in the house and we are excited to be a part of His grand plans!
We look forward to your next visit! And remember, we are under the hand of God and the favor of God – thus things (everything) is under His Spirit’s
transformation!
