PASTOR ROBERT NEILL, INTERIM PASTOR
Bob, the Interim Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Palos Verdes, is an ordained Baptist Minister. He was
raised in the San Francisco Bay Area with a high interest in athletics. He competed in basketball, baseball,
swimming and track in his early years. As a young adult he competed on the college level, lettering in cross
country, baseball, and basketball. Bob’s source of exercise today is walking, hiking, biking and golfing.
Bob accepted Jesus Christ as his own personal Savior at the tender age of 13. He grew up in a Christian
home and was active in church activities. Bob accepted a call to the Christian ministry in the fall of 1967.
In 1969 he graduated from Biola University with a B.S. Degree, majoring in Physical Education with minors
in Bible and Sociology. In 1972 he completed his Master’s Degree at Talbot School of Theology. He later
added to his studies by taking a one-year course in Theological Studies at Talbot School of Theology which
he completed in 1974. He was ordained into the Christian ministry in 1974. In 1995 he was awarded the
Doctor of Divinity Degree from St. Charles University while teaching seminary courses at the California
Center for Theological Studies in Southern California.
Since 1968 Bob has served in a variety of vocational ministry capacities for over 40 years. He served as a
Christian Education and Youth minister for 8 years, an Associate Pastor for 8 years, a Regional Minister in Educational Ministries and
Camping for 7 years, and a Senior Pastor for 17 years. He now serves as an Interim Pastor in churches across the Pacific Southwest
Region. He also presently serves on the Executive Committee to the Board of Directors, Christian Community Credit Union in San Dimas,
California.
Bob and his wife Sue have been married 42 years. Sue served as a homemaker for most of her parenting years. As the children were
grown she served as a Teacher’s Aide. She is now retired and cares for her grandchildren. Bob and Sue enjoy camping and traveling in
their motor home. Yosemite National Park is their favorite place to relax and recreate in God’s awesome and inspiring creation.
Bob and Sue have 3 daughters—Julie (36), Jennifer (33), and Janay (27). God has blessed them with 7 fabulous grandchildren.
