"The Glory of the Lord Shall Be Revealed" Pastor Nick Quient

Scripture Reading

1Comfort, O comfort my people, says your God. 2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that she has served her term, that her penalty is paid, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins. 3 A voice cries out: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.  5 Then the glory of the Lord shall be revealed,  and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” 6 A voice says, “Cry out!” And I said, “What shall I cry?” All flesh is grass; their constancy is like the flower of the field. 7 The grass withers; the flower fades, when the breath of the Lord blows upon it; surely the people are grass. 8 The grass withers; the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.  Isaiah 40:1-8 NRSVue

"Apocalypse of Messiah"  Pastor Nick Quient

Scripture Reading

11 For I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel that was proclaimed by me is not of human beings, 12 for I did not receive it from a human source, nor was I taught it, but I obtained it through an apocalypse of Jesus Messiah. 13 You have heard of my earlier life in Judaism. I was violently persecuting the church of God and was trying to destroy it. 14 I advanced in Judaism beyond many among my people of the same age, for I was far more zealous for the traditions of my ancestors. 15 But when the one who had set me apart before I was born and called me through his favor was pleased 16 to “apocalypse” his Son in me, so that I might proclaim him among the pagans, I did not confer with any human, 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were already apostles before me, but I went away at once into Arabia, and afterward I returned to Damascus. 18 Then after three years I did go up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days, 19 but I did not see any other apostle except James the Lord’s brother. 20 In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie! 21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia, 22 and I was still unknown by sight to the churches of Judea that are in Messiah; 23 they only heard it said, “The one who formerly was persecuting us is now proclaiming the faith he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they glorified God because of me.  Galatians 1:11-24; NRSVUE-Pastor Augmented

"Preeminence of the Gospel of Messiah"  Pastor Nick Quient

Scripture Reading

6 I am astonished that you have so hastily moved from the One who has called you in the favor of Messiah toward a different gospel—7 there is no other. There are some who are agitating you and desire to misconstrue the gospel of Messiah. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven might preach to you a gospel contrary to the gospel we preached, let them be cursed. 9 As we have said beforehand and I say again now: if anyone preaches a gospel to you that is contrary to what you have already accepted, let them be cursed. 10 For am I now seeking approval of human beings or of God? Or am I seeking to gain human favor? If I were still trying to gain favor with human beings, I would not be a slave of Messiah. Galatians 1:6-10; Pastor’s Translation

"Paul's Apocalyptic Gospel"  Pastor Nick Quient

Scripture Reading

1Paul, an apostle—not from human beings or through human beings—but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead, 2 and all of the brothers and sisters who are with me: to the churches of Galatia: 3 grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins in order to liberate us from the present wicked epoch in accordance with the desire of our God and Father; 5 to whom be glory forever unto forever. Amen.  Galatians 1:1-5; Pastor’s Translation
